Milton 40
– Inspiring a Lifetime of Learning and Discovery
At Milton School, we believe that education goes beyond the classroom. That’s why we’ve created the Milton 40 – a carefully curated list of 40 memorable experiences and essential life skills that every child will have the opportunity to enjoy and achieve during their time with us.
The Milton 40 reflects our commitment to raising aspirations, developing independence, and preparing children for the next stage of their education. From cultural visits and creative challenges to confidence-building tasks and community engagement, each experience is designed to help our pupils grow into well-rounded, capable young people.
These activities are embedded across our curriculum and planned carefully across year groups, ensuring every child, regardless of background or ability, can access and benefit from them.
Some highlights include:
-
Visiting a place of worship, a castle, and a science museum
-
Learning to tie shoelaces, ride a bike, and use public transport
-
Taking part in a sporting event, a short play, and a sponsored challenge
-
Speaking to emergency services, exploring local heritage, and baking a cake
-
Exploring music, art, nature, and different cultures
Through the Milton 40, we aim to spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and build the confidence our pupils need to thrive in school and beyond.
